Radiohead on Tour: The First 10 shows

Radiohead performing at the Tampa Bay Times Forum on 2/29/2012.

Radiohead kicked off their 2012 Tour last month in Miami, FL and  have played a total of 10 shows, not including their performance on the Austin City Limits Television program.

The tour has consisted mostly of material from The King Of Limbs, though the band have played at least one song from every album excluding Pablo Honey.   Though there have been quite a few surprises.

On this tour Radiohead have debuted three new songs: ‘Identikit’, ‘Cut A Hole’, and ‘Skirting On The Surface’ so far.

They played the B-Sides: ‘Meeting In The Aisle’ and ‘The Amazing Sounds Of Orgy’ live for the first time.

Other potential new songs we could see on this tour: ‘Full Stop‘, ‘Come To Your Senses‘, ‘The Present Tense‘?

You can check out all of the setlists from the first 10 shows here.

What songs are you hoping to hear?

Plan on seeing Radiohead on Tour this year?

Radiohead’s The King of Limbs tour will resume on April 9th at the Key Arena in Seattle, WA.

Here are just a few tips if you plan on seeing Radiohead on tour this year:

  1. When you arrive at the venue find out what their entry procedure is. (Make sure to check several times, because they do change sometimes).
  2. During the first 10 shows people would start lining up as early as 8:00am to get a spot close to the stage, or at the rail.   Plan on going early if you want to be really close to the stage.
  3. Make friends with others in line.  (They will usually save your spot for you in line if you need to step away for a minute.)  And it makes for a better crowd experience.
  4. If you plan on buying merchandise, try to buy it before the show (the lines are not as long), and you can take the merchandise back to your car so you don’t have to carry it around.
  5. Stay hydrated.  There were reports of several people passing out during the show in Houston.
  6. Have a Great Time!

Thanks to Alex (@noise_jam) and Elly (@twisted_words) who attended most (14 shows combined between them) of the first 10 shows for helping with these tips.

    Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update you as to what is happening on our hiatus. Tom (Yoke) and I have been playing a lot of backgammon, which I find is essential on the tour bus. Colin is very much into online poker and Clive is learning how to breakdance. Ed has also started to learn how to dance but is attending a samba dance class instead. Finally, Jonny has been reading old russian literature and playing his violin. We are all drinking enough water and eating a balanced diet.

We’ve really enjoyed the tour so far and can’t wait to kick-off the next chunk of it,

    Best regards,

  • DanielM

    really? present tense???!!

I’ve got a feeling Cuttooth is coming some time this year. It’s so freakin popular amongst radioheadheads. I’d die in the amazing sounds of that orgy.

I love all RH songs but I want surprises. I’ve heard EIIRP and Karma Police at every show since I was a teenager. I’d much prefer beloved but rarely played tunes like Sit Down Stand Up, These Are My Twisted Words, Backdrifts, Go To Sleep, Let Down, Morning Bell-Amnesiac, Packt Like Sardines, The Trickster, and of course Creep. I’m mostly excited for TKOL material. I think Feral will be unforgettable. I still really wish they would bring out a few horn players. It makes Bloom and Codex feel so complete. Adds a nice kick to The Daily Mail as well. The new material is great too, especially Identikit.

    Montreal in June!

  • Josh,

I must say…the site is looking great!
Also, the tips you posted regarding how to get a good spot was a nice touch!

    Keep up the great work!

I really want them to play The Butcher!!

  • Tanner

I really want to see Sit Down.Stand Up., Paranoid Android, Street Spirit, Idioteque, I Might Be Wrong, Kid A, Present Tense, and Fake Plastic Trees the most, but obviously I’m okay with them playing anything, as I love it all.

  • Dominic

I’m goin’ to the Seattle show and I wanna see Kid A probably most of all but also I wanna see Paranoid Android (not my fav song but seems like it is awesome live), Nude, 15 Step, Climbing up the Walls, There There and Present Tense if they ever play that. Frankly I will probably be satisfied with anything they could possibly throw out. Since they are opening with Bloom and playing Idioteque every time, I’m also super excited about those.

I’m going to the show in Montreal and I wish they will play for ”You and Whose Army?”, ”All I Need”, ”Codex”, ”True Love Waits” and maybe ”Fake Plastic Trees” and ”Sail To The Moon” …
    Thanks for the tips!!
    :)

There are two BIG songs that are missing at the moment, in my opinion. Well, lots of big songs really, (only one song from the entire Bends album has been played) but I think there are two songs that fit particularly well with these setlists and their specific “sound”, that haven’t been included so far.

These are 2+2=5 and I might be wrong. Thoughts?

    • I think those would be good additions. Its probably only a matter of time before we hear them.

Personally, I would love to hear Where I End and You Begin be added to the mix.

As far as B-Sides, I think Cuttooth is something they need to bust out as well.
