Radiohead’s The King of Limbs Released 3 Years Ago Today and Other News

Radiohead’s The King of Limbs was released 3 years ago today.  The band’s eighth studio album had been announced only 4 days before on Valentine’s Day.

The King Of Limbs was originally set to be available to download on the following Saturday (February 19th), though it was released one day early with a message posted by Ed O’Brien on Radiohead’s website.  ”It’s Friday… It’s almost the weekend…It’s a full moon…. You can download ‘The King of Limbs’ now if you so wish!  Thank you good people for waiting … Have a great weekend wherever you are….”  Read my complete post on the 2 year anniversary of The King of Limbs here.

Radiohead release new app PolyFauna

Radiohead have released a new app inspired by The King of Limbs.  The app was created by a collaboration between Radiohead and Universal Everything, born out of The King of Limbs sessions and using the imagery and the sounds from the song “Bloom”.

“It comes from an interest in early computer life-experiments and the imagined creatures of our subconscious.”  says Thom Yorke on the bands website, and gives these tips for the app:

Your screen is the window into an evolving world.
Move around to look around.
You can follow the red dot.
You can wear headphones.

Download the app: iOS  / Android
