Chieftan Mews Tweets
Yesterday on Twitter Chieftan Mews updated his profile picture, today he sent out the following tweet:
“Newspapers: Super! How about more TV? They say I am not in demand now?! Stitch up job! Go on; enjoy your 25% growth of steamy footage.”
I think he is talking about a webcast on Radiohead.TV. What do you think he means by, “enjoy your 25% growth of steamy footage.” Let me know in the comments!!
– Radiohead also sent out the following Tweet from their Twitter account today:
“We’re releasing 2 new songs Supercollider & The Butcher on 12″ for Record Store Day this Saturday 16th across the UK, Japan & Europe”
So, it appears that the 12″ single will be available in Europe and Japan in addition to the UK.
Here is the first photo of the physical copy of the single.

We are getting close…
Chieftan Mews has been quite active on Facebook and now he is back on Twitter. He has updated (inverted the colors) his profile picture. The picture is still saved as: imsmenoo
In this photo you can see that the familiar green color has been replace with pink in Mews picture.
He has also been quite active on Facebook as well. His profile picture on Facebook is also the same as his Twitter account.
He posted the following message on his Facebook page:
“VIDEO LINK to Basil Poledouris, www.youtube.com
Be alert!: Разве что свет в конце туннеля? Или в том, что поезд?”
Google translated the Russian as :
Is that light at the end of the tunnel? Or is that a train?
Разве can mean ‘really’ (with a slightly negative connotation), so it should read more like
“Is that really a light at the end of the tunnel? Or is that a train?”
Thanks to Muggs for sending this to me.
Also,
It looks as if some changes have been made on the actual site for The King Of Limbs (http://thekingoflimbs.com/).
hi again.
i think you where right about the pictures. but i have just realized something odd. I remember you wrote that after entering the order tracking to tkol you could write numbers from 1-3 in the browser after “memberindex”. and the last message was “bye”.shortly after you made that post, that option was no longer available, but now….now the numbers 2 and 4 has been activated. the “memberindex2” is completely similar to the original one but the “memberindex4” is a little different; under “items” stands OrderItemsID.. it seems like I still gets tkol when I hit the download button.Maybe you already have seen it or maybe not, but can you explain it to me?xEmil
Thanks to Emil for sending this to me.
I am not sure why that would change unless there will be something added to the store either for purchase or download.
We know that Supercollider and The Butcher are being released on Saturday April 16th for Record Store Day in the UK.

The King Of Limbs covered
So, I have been wanting to put together some of the best covers from The King Of Limbs album. I have been unable to find any covers of “Bloom” and “Feral”. There are so many great covers out there, I will probably end up with 2-3 covers per song. What does everyone think of this idea?
Here is one of the best covers of “Little By Little” by Warren:
Please let me know what yo think of this idea in the comments section, and if you have a cover or know of a cover you can send it to me by email or on Twitter.
Also Radiohead finally confirmed the single for Record Store Day. Until today the band had not directly mentioned it.
From Facebook:
If you don’t already know, we are releasing two new songs, Supercollider and The Butcher on 12″ 45rpm vinyl to celebrate Record Store Day this Saturday 16th April. Click on the link for participating stores in the UK, or check your local record store if you are elsewhere…

Chieftan Mews is back!
So, if you read my last post about the deadline registration on The Universal Sigh Japan site it looks as if something will happen soon. And just a few hours after that Chieftan Mews returned. He has been accepting friend requests on Facebook, and look at the photo below!
It reads:
“Super Collider and The Butcher are tracks 1 and 2 of TKOL, and Bloom and the rest are meant to be played afterwards? CONFIRM OR DENY? Does TAMTW fit in there too? Or are you simply going to “like” this and drive me menoo?”
Notice how Chieftan Mews has “liked” this on Facebook…
Thanks to Warren for sending this to me! You may know Warren from his many Radiohead cover’s and guitar lesson’s on YouTube. Check out his channel here.
I will update this as soon as more information becomes available.
There will be an interview with Colin and Ed tomorrow on BBC 6 Music:
Tomorrow, 13:00 on BBC 6 Music on the Radcliffe and Maconie show:
Ed and Colin from Radiohead join us to talk about a new music documentary film, ‘Anyone Can Play Guitar’, that they appear in, examining the music scene in Oxford between 1978 and 2007. Written by Jon Spira, narrated by Stewart Lee and featuring other bands such as Supergrass, Foals, as well as less-well known bands, the film examines the roles of community, the music industry, and luck in a band gaining commercial success.
I am doubting they will go into great detail on The King Of Limbs or TKOL2 since they are there to discuss the documentary. I will post the audio here as soon as it becomes available.
You can also listen to it online by visiting the BBC 6 Music site here.
Thanks to Oliver (http://twitter.com/RadioGoddard) for bringing this to my attention.
And here is what the booklet looks like for the Japanese edition on The King Of Limbs
Notice there are lyrics listed for the song “Feral”, I will update this as soon as I have more info on it.
Here is a rough descritption of the lyrics;
Still REALLY hard to see, but if I had to take a total guess this is what I see:
L1: “You are not a being of the forest.”
L2: “And the forest is also not yours.”
L3: “And that’s okay.”
L4: “Please don’t [still can’t figure it out.]”The hiragana is easy to read, it’s the kanji that gets fucked up during the zooming process. Assuming the first kanji in line 1 is “mori” or 森 for “forest”, it would fit into the lyrics I typed.
I don’t know if the kanji is repeated in line 2, it admittedly looks a bit different and it’s killing me (and my eyes) that I can’t see it clearly.
The last line looks to be a plea of some sort, please don’t [something]. Again the kanji is too distorted!
Thanks to Paddy for sending these to me.
