In this photo its shows the artwork from The King Of Limbs on what looks like the front page of a Newspaper and reads The Universal Sigh at the top, and it also appears to come with some type of flyer as well.  It also reads on both “Please Visit This Site:  www.theuniversalsigh.com  The newspaper has 12 pages.

This is a copy of the Universal Sigh promo newspaper given by Radiohead to promote their The King Of Limbs.
Along with this you will be given a coupon with a unique code and what you can do with it.
Standard tabloid size, 12 pages, this will be sent folded in half.

It looks as if we will receive some additional news on a possible Part 2 to The King Of Limbs on Monday.  This information seems to have leaked a little earlier than expected.  There will be free Radiohead Newspapers given out on Monday March 28th.  Here is the part of story that has already been leaked:

“H newspaper will be available only in this event and will not be released anywhere else!”

What? A different, extremely limited edition of the already limited edition Newspaper album?

“The newspaper will be distributed to the first lucky ones to be found in Metropolis (University 54), Monday, March 28, at 2:00 in the afternoon. ”

This also seems to go along with Stanley’s last tweet about a project that he is working on a newspaper.  I think this newspaper is separate from the “Newspaper Album”, since those probably would not be given away.  Here is Stanley’s latest tweet:

“a late night and a good print, sampled at least. cmyk then a few more layers i think. probably going to do the edition over the next 2 weeks”

This was also in his blog back on March 2nd:

“I’m currently in hiding in a strange city far from my usual haunts. Events caused by or connected to the production of artwork had become a sort of sticky web of entanglement.
But now, from here, they seem less ensnaring, and my new project, possibly the most ambitious yet, is taking shape across the digital lines of communication. This new project will, if everything goes to plan, involve many major cities of the world.
I feel a little like a Bond villain, hiding from the world in this hilltop fastness, with lists of capital cities taped to the walls of my lair, scrumpled versions of my plans littering the metal floor. I should think up a suitable codename for it, perhaps.”

There are some rumors that there might be some information in the newspaper that may contain certain codes to provide further information.  Right now when you go to that website www.theuniversalsigh.com it asks for a FTP login and password which is only for the site administrator.

Today at around 1:00pm EST Stanley Donwood sent out the following message on Twitter:

Now, as I mentioned yesterday I think the Newspaper Edition of the album is completed and ready to go by now.  So maybe he is working on something else.  CMYK = Cyan Magenta Yellow Black….Printing colors (Thanks to piccoutrain on twitter for giving me this info)

In this photo:  is the picture with the treeline with more of white background, looks like it may be going into a newspaper.

Last night we started work on printing Divided Woods. This image was an oil painting which was photographed with a Canon eos5D. These cameras are kind of unnerving; they can see more than we do. I was able to pick up the weave of the canvas the picture was painted on from a distance of about two metres. Words like ‘forensic’ and ‘military’ spring to mind.
Anyway, with digital photographs like this the challenge is to try to lose as little detail as possible, so we made 4-colour separations and had these output onto film, and then exposed the fine-mesh screens. Ordinarily nobody would ever use screenprinting to try to create an image like this. As we were informed by experts. But never mind! Onward! Into the Manufactory (which is no longer a terrifyingly squalid cell with sub-zero temperatures, but now, in late March, is actually quite pleasant) and out with the brand-new squeegee, and a very fine sample we made. Cyan, magenta, yellow, and superskinny black. It’s not finished yet, as we have to experiment further, but as you can see from the crappy photo above, things are looking good.

Also, it looks as if Cheiftan Mews has updated his picture on his Twitter account and the image is the same photo it looks to be more blurred than before.  As of  today it has been 9 days since we have heard from Mews, and Stanley did say “mews=quiet?” back on the 18th of March.  Maybe no Mews really is good news?  His picture continues to become more and more blurred, will something happen when it is gone completely?

This was just sent into me.  If you look these are 2 of Stanley’s newest paintings and both look similar with the treeline.  If you notice when they are put together there appears to be a face of some type at the top of the painting.  You can click on the image to enlarge it.

If you remember back in this post, Sebastien Edge is the photographer who took the 2 photos of the band in the woods with their arms raised.  Just a few minutes ago  he sent out the following messages on his twitter account:

this is the photo you can see the trees surrounding a lake, if you notice the reflection in the water it has been altered:

 

Then he sent out:

#tkol is clearly a reference to The King Of Limbs.  Maybe he is shooting additional photos for the Newspaper Edition, or…….

I think that they would have all of the artwork complete for the Newspaper Edition and they have already started producing them because we are only a month and a half from them being shipped.
