Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien to appear on BBC Radio 1 with Zane Lowe on Thursday, November 3rd at 7:00pm UK time (2:00pm EST).  The show consists of two hours of the best new and cutting edge music. It’s Zane versus Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien in an epic soundclash.  Listen to the show here.

Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood debuts Polymorphia tonight

Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood will unveil his 48 Responses to Polymorphia for the first time in the UK tonight.

The work for 48 string instruments, (24 violins and 8 violas, cellos and basses) will be performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra at a special Halloween themed night.

The Disturbia concert at the Southbank in London, will also see audience members being blindfolded as they listen to Luciano Berio’s horrifying electro-acoustic fantasy piece, Visage, which was banned from the airwaves in Italy.

Featuring Friday the 13th composer Harry Manfredini, Adrian Larkin has been finding our more about the influence of classical music on the horror film genre.

Video: The Minotaur at The Old Vic Tunnels features a sonic installation by Thom Yorke

There’s  an art exhibition current taking place in The Old Vic Tunnels of South London called The Minotaur, which features a large-scale mesmerizing abstract film projection reflected in an ominous and regal pool of water, two sculptures made from what appear to be dead rats, graphic footage of bullfighting shown on loop, as well as a sonic installation from Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.

The Minotaur was described by Stanley Donwood as “an event organised by that curator of the questionable, Mr Steve Lazarides. The event will take place in the cavernous tunnels below Waterloo Station in London. Me, I’m going to be something unlike anything that I’ve done before, if you discount that business with the maze in Holland a year or so ago.”
