Radiohead to headline Coachella in 2012?
There are some rumors out there that Radiohead will headline Coachella in 2012.
“…And though rock record revenues have diminished, the concert business, led by acts with multi-decade careers playing arenas and stadiums, has held steady and in some cases has actually increased. The same is true with high-profile festivals like Coachella, which has locked in No Doubt and Radiohead as two of next year’s headliners…

New Blog Post from Stanley Donwood THE MINOTAUR
I feel that I’ve been cryptic for long enough, and now I believe that there”s even a press release doing the rounds about THE MINOTAUR, an event organised by that curator of the questionable, Mr Steve Lazarides. The event will take place in the cavernous tunnels below Waterloo Station in London. Me, I’m going to be something unlike anything that I’ve done before, if you discount that business with the maze in Holland a year or so ago.
I’ve also done two new prints for the event; the one shown above, which is the show poster, as it were, and will be available for a price that may be attractive to the impecunious. The other print is still in production, so I cannot show it here yet, but it addresses the central quandary that my piece in THE MINOTAUR is essentially all about.
Bookings for THE MINOTAUR are being taken from 10th October. Click here: theminotaur.co.uk for more details. In other, very exciting (to me) news: the printed version of Divided Woods will be available very very soon! It worked! It only took seven months! Hooray, etc.
The next Taglibro will be out by the 28th September. Sorry for the long gap. Things have been… interesting.– 14th September 2011

Jonny Greenwood in Poland
Here is Jonny Greenwood in Poland:
“There’s only 12 power chords, and I think we’ve had about 20 years of them, so maybe it’s time to move on, aye?”
Co-operation of Krzysztof Penderecki, Aphex Twin and Jonny Greenwood is something unprecedented. Aphex Twin is a prominent figure of the contemporary electronic music; he’s the first techno artist whose works have been transcribed for orchestra and then performed in major concert halls all over the world (among others by London Sinfonietta and Alarm Will Sound). Jonny Greenwood, guitarist of Radiohead and a composer well acquainted with ‘classic’ instrumentarium, manifests his attachment to Penderecki’s music.
The programme of two concerts in Wrocław includes three compositions by Penderecki: “Polymorphia for strings”, “Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima” and “Canon for strings”. All these works, written for strings (in the latter case, for strings and tape delay), come from 1960-1962, the avant-garde years of the composer’s life. Both Aphex Twin and Jonny Greenwood will invoke just that period in their music. “Polymorphia” – performed for the first time 50 years ago – has become their source of inspiration. Aphex Twin is composing “Polymorphia Reloaded” while Jonny Greenwood – “48 Responses to Polymorphia”; both compositions will have their world premiere in Wrocław.
“Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima” has been chosen mainly because of its relations with Jonny Greenwood’s “Popcorn Superhet Receiver” (inspired by Penderecki’s music) and the Aphex Twin’s decision to remix just that piece by the Polish composer. Concerts will be supplemented with Penderecki’s “Canon” for 52 strings and tape delay, two sets by Aphex Twin, and a piece from the Jonny Greenwood’s soundtrack “There Will be blood.
The first concert (Penderecki/Greenwood) will be more ‘classical’, the other one (Penderecki/Aphex Twin) will have a more ‘rave’ like nature.PROGRAMME OF THE SEPTEMBER 9 CONCERT
