Paul McCartney wants to record with Radiohead’s Thom Yorke.   In a recent interview with NME Paul McCartney revealed his desire to record with Thom Yorke, but is scared Thom wouldn’t be interested.

Paul says his daughter Stella is determined to for the two to work together. “My daughter Stella is very keen. She’s got a project, she keeps saying to me, ‘Ring Thom and just go into the studio and just see what you come out with.'”  He added, “I’m a bit sort of paranoid to just ring him up. ‘Hey Thom, it’s Paul here. What do you fancy, what are you doing? Do you fancy writing something?’ Just in case he says, ‘Er, actually I’m busy’.”

McCartney also discusses his desire to record with Damon Albarn and Bob Dylan in the interview, which will be in this months issue of NME.

This wouldn’t be the first time Paul has wanted to work with Thom.  Paul previously invited Thom to play piano on the track “Mr Bellamy” on his 2007 album Memory Almost Full, an offer that Thom declined due to ‘not being able to play piano’.  Thom said ‘Uhh, ’cause I can’t play piano. Not like that. I had to explain to him that, I listened to the tune – “Mr Bellamy” – and I really liked the song, but the piano playing involved two hands doing things separately. I don’t have that skill available. I said to him, “I strum piano, that’s it.”

Paul’s 2005 album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard was produced by long-time Radiohead producer Nigel Godrich.
