Radiohead rehearsing new material for upcoming tour
Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien yesterday spoke with Mary Anne Hobbs on XFM yesterday about “The Daily Mail” and “Staircase”, which will be released as a single on December 19th. He said “we’re feeling pretty vital right now, we’re trying to keep it creative.” He also revealed the band has been rehearsing 4 or 5 songs and that they hope to play them on their upcoming tour.
He also talks about how “The Daily Mail” and “Staircase” came about, and that “The Daily Mail” was written back in 2005.
In an interview with Rolling Stone back in October Thom Yorke revealed that the band would be returning to the recording studio in December and January.
Listen to the interview below.
Update: Ed spoke to BBC Music 6 this morning and spoke about the bands upcoming tour and and the possibility of an EP being released:
“We haven’t got anymore stuff left over but we are rehearsing at the moment and we are rehearsing new songs because we want the tour to be creative.
“So if that means at the end of the year we might have nipped into the studio for a couple of weeks and done an EP or something else then it could be, but the thing is to keep it as fluid and flexible as possible.”
The new single will available on December 19th on Amazon.com and The King Of Limbs store.
